Ticketing Update

Gottwood FestivalNews

We sincerely apologise to those effected by the ticketing issues experienced this morning.

We set out to offer tickets to pre-registered guests and previous attendees. In expectance of a high demand we upped our server capacities and sent our ticket link via our email provider Sendy well in advance of the release.

Unfortunately we received an unprecedented level of web traffic – over 10-15 times the expected amount which tipped the web servers, and more importantly the email servers, into issuing an error message and permanently killing off the email ticket link, resulting in failed access for many subscribers.

To allow those who had been waiting to still buy tickets, we made the event publicly viewable on Resident Advisor to enable ticket flow – this was at 10.30 this morning. We had allocated the exact same number of tickets as last year in the same Tier allocations but with much higher demand and public access from 10.30am we sold over 50% of the tickets by 11.30am.

In hindsight we understand that pausing the process and communicating a public sale date this afternoon or tomorrow may have been more suited to the situation however given people taking time off work and wanting tickets this morning we made the decision to move in this direction.

The server issues have now been rectified (the email link is still down) and we understand that there are a number of frustrated customers however with that level of traffic regardless of the server issues access to Earlybird prices would still be challenging. We understand the frustration some of you have and understand that next year we need to look once again at how we can offer a fairer ticketing system.

Most importantly this is an apology from us, we understand the errors that have been made, albeit in the process of trying to offer the fairest ticketing system possible. We promise to rectify the issues for next year and promise that this years festival and the artists attending will be nothing short of spectacular.

For those yet to buy tickets we suggest you do so soon here –https://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?886587

For those having any issues with tickets purchased through resident advisor please get in touch with their support team where they will be able to assist you – ticketsupport@residentadvisor.net

Team Gottwood.

P.s. – We promise we are not changing, or growing but we can’t control the level of demand, it has gone absolutely crazy. We’re doing all we can and promise to stay true to our roots.
