It is time for our annual DJ Competition and this time round we have decided to ‘mix’ things up a bit.
For the past 3 years it was the public voting on who they wanted to see play at Gottwood however, this year we have a selected a panel of industry specialists and will be asking them to choose their pick of the entries. On this panel we have:
- Dave Harvey (Futureboogie / Love Saves The Day)
- Jamie Russell (Hypercolour)
- Rich Reason (Hit & Run / Primary)
- Josh Tweek & Brinsley Kazak (Louche)
- Nick Stevensen (Editor of Mixmag)
- Matt Hesselworth (Tief)
- Chris Blackhall (Jaunt / DJ Mag)
The 10 best entries (according to the Gottwood office) will be uploaded to the Gottwood Soundcloud. We will then ask our industry panel to individually rank their 3 favourite entries. The 3 entries with the most votes will win, prizes include:
- 1st Prize – Peak Time Set @ Gottwood, Gottwood Tee, Gottwax EP1, Gottwax EP2
- 2nd Prize – Set @ Gottwood
- 3rd Prize – Set @ Gottwood
Rules are as follows:
- Applicants must not be on an agency.
- Applicants must submit a 30-60 minute mix recorded exclusively for this competition, on or before Wednesday 15th April.
- All entries to be submitted via a streamable link (Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc) only to info@gottwood.co.uk. No downloads will be listened too.
We encourage eclectic mixes showcasing a broad range of musical taste and mixing ability – peak time Beatport sets are very unlikely to be shortlisted!
